South Links tackles post-harvest losses among South Sudanese off-grid smallholder farmers. The agriculture sector in South Sudan has been paralyzed by a protracted civil war. Consequently, agricultural value chains and critical infrastructure such as road networks are almost non-existent. Therefore, off-grid smallholder farmers incur enormous post-harvest losses because they are cut off from value additional technology as well as have limited means of transporting their farm produce to market. Therefore, Farmers are unable to support their families and generally address food insecurity in the country because of farm losses they occasionally experience.
